Where We Stand
legal pad

The Story Behind Our Firm

Lawyers use legal pads, right? That's how legal pads got their name. It's a tradition.

But they're hard to deal with; they take up too much space. They're unwieldy, especially for taking notes in cramped quarters. Hard to photocopy. Difficult to file.

So when we opened our office in 1995, we made a conscious decision to communicate like the rest of the world and use standard-sized pads. They fit in our file folders. No wasted space. Plus, the file cabinets are cheaper.

It simply makes sense.

At GraceHollis LLP, we've challenged many legal traditions, like the one that says lawyers have to work in silos, each partner in his or her corner office — as far from each other as possible. Or that everyone in a "real" law firm needs to be stuffy and formal. And everyone knows a law firm can't possibly be successful unless it's located on the top floor of a downtown high-rise and paneled with wood that cost more than its clients make in a year. Right?

Yes, we've broken the mold. And we're proud of it.

Did it all start with banishing legal pads? Maybe.

Find out for yourself. GraceHollis. A different kind of law firm.

About GraceHollis

It's all about your goals - not ours.  Lets face it, clients want to stay out of legal trouble but if a legal dispute arises, they want an experienced team of litigators who are attentive listeners, good communicators, and great advocates for their interests in court.

We are proud to note that our firm is rated "AV" by Martindale-Hubbell - its highest possible national rating. The firm is also included in Bar Registry of Pre-eminent Lawyers (89th ed., 2006) published by Martindale-Hubbell. Each day, our attorneys and staff do whatever it takes to provide the type of high-quality service that rating indicates to our clients.

GraceHollis has been in operation since 1995 and owns its own brick and mortar office buildings in San Diego and Temecula, with virtual offices in Orange, Los Angeles, Sacramento and San Francisco.
