Case Study
"We're working on a precedent-setting case in the field of gay and lesbian rights, representing two high school students expelled from a private religious-based school because the principal believed they were lesbians. We filed suit against the school for sexual orientation discrimination in violation of the California Constitution, sexual orientation discrimination in violation of Unruh Act and invasion of privacy and unfair business practices.
When decided, the case could set a state precedent on whether religious schools can exclude gays and lesbians. The case has already received extensive local, national and international attention. We're proud to represent our clients in this case."

AB 205
The Domestic Partner Rights and Responsibilities Act (AB 205) of California expanded legal rights given to registered domestic partners and their families to include many that were previously available only to opposite-sex spouses. GraceHollis attorneys have an extraordinary amount of experience with this particular legislation. We teach seminars about AB 205, and regularly consult with non-profit and community organizations that serve the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender members of the community.
