Mike was born in La Porte, Indiana and spent his early years living in various cities throughout the Midwest. He attended high school in Orange County, California. He was a foreign exchange student in Holland and Sweden during portions of high school, college and graduate school. Mike has lived in San Diego intermittently since 1968.
While in law school, Mike was the recipient of numerous Moot Court awards for oral and written advocacy and was a member of the Moot Court Board.
In Nevada, Mike served as a court-appointed Mental Commitment Hearing Officer in 1982 and 1983. He was also a member of the Screening Panel for Medical Malpractice of Clark County, Nevada in 1982 and 1983. In 2000, Mike reactivated his Nevada bar license and opened an affiliate office in Las Vegas.
Mike is a founding partner of GraceHollis LLP and a former partner of two other major San Diego and Las Vegas law firms. He holds an "AV" rating by Martindale-Hubbell. He has taught the litigation course in the Legal Assistant Program at the University of San Diego, and is a frequent invited speaker.
Mike excels in all types of civil litigation as well as administrative proceedings before the California Medical Board and other licensing agencies.
He's a founding member of the GraceHollis Foundation which endeavors to enrich the lives of homeless and foster children as well as children in local Head Start programs in the San Diego community.
Mike enjoys life in the country. He lives in an adobe house on a small agricultural property and raises citrus and avocados with his wife of many years an artist, classical pianist, and gourmet chef and their four dogs and four cats. more >
